here are a few answers to some questions... and some clarification.
mandatory qualifications include:
during the interviews, each candidate will demonstrate their speaking and writing skills as well as ability to work both individually and as a team. they should have good knowledge of the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney Company including experience with job shadowing/cross training in a variety of roles to better understand the Resort operations. they should demonstrate a natural enthusiasm for the Resort. it is a full-time salaried position with a busy schedule of events and appearances both locally and globally, serving for one year from January 1 through December 31. the Ambassador becomes the offical Resort representative and is the voice of over 20,000 Cast Members during both local and national print media, television and radio interviews. duties include being official host to visiting dignitaries, VIP's and political leaders, as well as, emcee at offical Resort ceremonies and serve as "emissarie of goodwill" in the community. Quote:
the first Ambassador, Julie Reihm, was selected by Walt Disney in 1964 to serve during the Disneyland "Tencennial Celebration" in 1965. today, the ultimate decision is made by the Resort President. each October, all CM's are invited to the live announcement ceremony at the Main Street Train Station in Town Square. the Ambassador(s) is(are) selected based upon who best reflects and promotes the Disney pholosophy and ideals and demonstrates the ability to carry on Walt's DREAM of making Disneyland a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.
