Vegas is so-so. Cirque du Soleil is devine. I will go see "O" with mousepod, or anyone else. And Zumanity. And yeah, I'll be seeing Love.
Edited to add: The Wynn Hotel is the epitome of swank. If we win LoT LoTto, we can afford to stay there! Last edited by innerSpaceman : 12-26-2006 at 09:00 AM. Reason: more swank |

Winchester Mystery House
Moonlight Tours are restricted to any Friday the 13th date and Halloween.
Info can be found here Event prices seem to be $39 for a moonlight walkabout the place. San Jose has not been on my exploration list for some time, but with all the new building and renovating going on in the last decade, I think it's worth a trip for investigative purposes. |

The area around there is both better looking and less interesting since Santana Row (very nearby) was completed.
I've done the moonlight tour and didn't find it all that interesting (though there were some people in our group that weren't necessarily fun to be with so that may have influenced things). "Look! A crazy lady built a crazy house." That sustained things for about 10 minutes. |

We recently strolled the grounds of the Winchester House. We were staying nearby...geesh, I forget the name of the place but it was a ten minute drive from there. We also went to the Mission. It wasn't open.
![]() I didn't do much there but the Chickie and fiance spent two whole days exploring. They went to an Egyptian museum {?}. Found Vegan places to eat. We went to Carls' Jr. BUT back to topic~that would be the best if it were all a gang of people you knew to do the tour with. And no babies!!! ![]()

Probably the Rosicrucian Temple and Egyptian museum. Freaky cool.

The Rosicrucian Temple and museum is indeed cool. Just go in knowing that a fair amount of the history presented is fraudulent (as you'd expect from an 19th century fraternal organization that truly believes it has a continuous history extending all the way back to ancient Egypt).
But if you keep that in mind it is cool. And a lot of the straight Egyptology on display is accurate, just be wary of the claims about the organization. (Here's a brief overview) |
