Calico is fun. You can camp, or rent a cabin (some are "haunted"). It's not that far, about 3 hours from Orange County, near Barstow, off the 15. One of the guys up there does a
ghost walk tour which is pretty fun. They take a group of about 10 people through the ghost town at night. It's pretty dark, and of course everyone hears all the stories and you are pretty much all on a hair trigger when you walk around the town. All you have to do is touch the person next to you to get the whole group to freak out. One person with us was walking through the graveyard during the daytime and looked at us and noticed that there were 5 shadows for 4 people. I'm not sure how much I believe but it's fun nonetheless.
