For home pc I wouldn't want it because I am not generally close enough to my monitor to make touching it all the time convenient or ergonomic. Same with any other screen I would be spending large amounts of time looking at.

But I can see many, many other uses for it.

Oh yeah, good point. I've been so laptop-centric at home I forgot that desktop monitors tend to be out of reach.

I can definitely see it being useful in the creative world or in something like IC design.
