My Boris is still going strong, even with kidney issues. There are some meds that can help improve what function is left. (Boris is on Norvasc and potassium powder, and will probably add a third after his annual exam coming up next month.)

Soooo...
Is anyone else really, really sick of Oprah? I swear, if I hear "Oprah says..." or "Oprah did....." one more time I am going to lose it. Last night, I was reading Suzy Orman's (sp?) column and I mentioned that I liked her, so my MIL ruined it by saying "Oprah discovered her!" (She is a die-hard Oprah fan). I just closed the magazine and tossed it on the table. ![]() |

OMG yes. If I saw one more commerical for her TV speical last night I was going to loose my one remaining marble. Bleh. It's lovely that you do good works and all but bringing along the cameras to show the world how wonderful you are isn't the way to do it.
And did anyone see her Oscar special? Bleh. Her introductions were "done from home" and she was watching "just like you". Umm I don't think her home is quite like my home. Then she crashed the Sidney Poitier/Jamie Foxx interview to make it all about her anyway.

HI!
|
The only time i am exposed to oprah is her billboards and the occasional magazine I see at the market or a Dr.'s Office. It's a good thing.
At least she doesn't have an annoying saying I end up quoting like Martha Stewart. |

Katiesue nailed it- Oprah sure gets a lot of mileage out of her 'good works'. I don't dispute that she does them, but she also reaps a lot of bennies out of the publicity she gets. I think the whole Hermes flap is what really did it for me, not that I've ever liked her. She tried to crash a business that not only was closed but also in the middle of an employee meeting, then cries racism when she is denied entry. Load of crap.

I happened to catch about 5 minutes of Oprah on Ellen last week. That, and the Oprah/Letterman commercial during the Super Bowl are my total Oprah exposure for the last many months.

Oh the other Oprah thing that bugged me from her crashing the Poitier/Foxx interview was she said the clip from Look Who's Coming to Dinner where Poitier's character says to his father something like "you see yourself as a black man. I see myself as a man" and how she loved that part and it changed her life blah blah. And yet she plays the black card at every given opportunity.
