| Senior Member | Madz did the expander, and actually may need to do it again. It only took her a day or so to get used to it. Her only issue was no gum. That almost killed her. Kevy it's an appliance that's basically glued into the top of your mouth that's used to expand your pallet. You have to crank it every day or every other day with this little tool to slowly make the pallet larger.

Pizza was fine. The things she had trouble with were harder foods. The expander things glue over the molars so you don't have quite the chew power. Apples & Carrots were kind of hard. She's in waiting mode right now until a few more teeth come out. Her pallet was so small her upper teeth actually fit inside her lower ones. So they may have to expand some more later.

| Nevermind | Well, Tori got a week's reprieve- the expander didn't fit properly and they had to make another impression. Next try is next Tuesday. |

				            | I had an expander on my bottom teeth. Right after I got my retainer off, in came my impacted wisdom teeth. My expander was called a spring loaded retainer. It had a spring to push out the tooth that had moved because of the wisdom teeth. It had a screw to force my mouth to make room for the tooth. Everytime I took it off the tooth would make an audible POP and go right back where it was. It hurt like HELL! I finally told my mom I would deal with the crooked tooth and tossed the retainer. |
