I may be in the market for a new/newer vehicle. Suggestions are much appreciated!

Here are my needs:
1)4-door with a reasonably comfortable back seat. Suitable for running clients around to look at property for hours at a time.
2)Must look decently professional (eg: no Bugs, Mini Coopers, pickups, etc.)
3)Reliability
4)Under $20K, the lower the better

What have you guys heard about the following cars?

1) Honda CRV LX (probably the most expensive car I'm considering, but tremendously reliable)
2) Scion xA (I know nothing about this car, but it's supposed to be roomy and easy to get in/out of)
3) Toyota Corolla

In the past I've also considered Saturns, but there are various concerns about reliability that, coupled with much higher insurance costs, have pretty much eliminated them from consideration.

I own a 2003 Corolla, and my brother owns one a few years older than that. Mine's been very reliable. Okay, so the factory radio bit the dust. But other than that, no problems that weren't of our own making.

The back seat is one of the reasons we chose the Corolla. At the time, I wanted a smallish car that could still reasonably fit adults in the back seat. (The Sentra is right out in this regard). I've ridden in the back seat of both Corollas and it was fine. Not spacious like an SUV, but not unbearably cramped.

While I am a large fan of the Toyota products, I would say that the Corolla would not be your best choice in terms of what you need to show real estate. I am not familiar with the other two cars, but in light of your current career path, I would strongly suggest you keep the size factor in mind when making a decision.

My dos centavos on the subject is to look for a used car with more room. I don't think you need to go with a Lincoln Town Car, but definitely something larger than a Corolla. Part of what you want to do is portray a successful image - people generally want to work with successful people!

This is probably a bad suggestion, but what if you fixed the jeep, used it for a commuter car, and borrowed a nicer car on the weekends when you had to project a successful real estate image? (just until you were in a position to save up for a nicer car)

I don't what type of dwelling you reside in but you might want to walk about the perimeter and look up in the eaves {I think that is what it is called where the roof overhangs? I dunno...go with me here} and see if you see anything that looks like a clump of mud.

Or, do hornets make their nests in the ground? Really something to look in to and do a check now and again.

Luckily, for the time being, I'm just visiting. From what I can tell, they can settle just about anywhere, though usually under eaves and in nooks. They can even be in hallowed walls (which concerns me, though I doubt it is the case - we shall see).
