They charge you $90 to run a marathon, and it's not even for charity?

Nor is it at DLR?

No thanks. Besides, I'd drop after the first half mile.

Huh? It's not a marathon, it's 13K, and registration is $65. That's pretty standard for large races.

Maybe I can get some local friends to go. And there's always the Bitter East Coaster contingent!

Not when you point it out.

I believe I have convinced a coworker to come down with me. Now we have to wait for the Southwest sale fares to open up for October...

Sorry, I don't even know the difference of a marathon and a 13K.

And the after party is $35, so you could spend $90 total............

.......to run.

And if that's your thing (yes, I know it is yours) then that's fine. I'm not knocking it, just not sure I'd spend the money for that kind of event. I had no idea that was usual for such events (or any kind of event for that matter- I'm cheep ) With staffing, emergancy workers, security, permits and stuff it does cost to operate these.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off so .........

I hope you find someone to go, and you have a good time. Maybe we will get another Run Steph, Run! thread going!

A marathon is about 40k (26 miles). A 13k is about 8 miles.

I'm not a fan of ToT (drop rides offer exactly zero thrill) so lots of rides on that doesn't appeal. But I do like Rockin' Roller Coaster as much as I ever like roller coasters.

They better not oversell though because one of the worst things to do after a long run is spend a lot of time standing still.

With a good group of people pairing this one one night with Not So Scary could be a pretty fun weekend.

That's what I'm thinking!

Oh and RStar, your race registration includes the after party. The extra tickets are if you want to go to the party without running.
