I had a few of those moments during this one too. Is that it? Felt like I was missing a step.

Please oh please don't let the fall MA be on the same day as the Thomas Tang competition.

I guess I learned that I like multi-step puzzles. "Find the answer to this part, use it to figure out this puzzle which will ask you the final quesiton." But maybe that's just me.
It's not just you. I felt that the end results in a few quests were very anti-climatic. I suppose my other complaint would be that I never felt like I had an "Ahh-ha...what an evil genius" moment either. But I chalked that up to it being an Alex-less game this go around.

Prudence, no promises (I'm not the decider) but at least for the Northwest Regional you are likely safe.

I would agree with you on that. Those are my favorites as well. The game format of the original MouseAdventure just dosen't really lend itself to it (where as The Enchanted Race is all about continuing your quest). Original MouseAdventure Quests are usually two part quests in format. Do a puzzle, get a question, answer or find some information, do something with that information, answer. We did do more of a multi-part thing with E Quest 2, but that was really it.

I don't know if you've ever played "3 in three" or "The Fools Errand". They are older computer puzzle games where, as you completed puzzles, others would open up, based on your earlier answers.

We have kicked around ideas on such a game.

I hate the all-or-nothingness of the race format. You can't give up on something and go on to something else. It's such a straightjacket.

I wouldn't mind quests that went for 3 steps or 4, but beyond that ... it's getting very all-or-nothing.

I don't mind what the puzzles are, as long as they don't require sitting around for more than 10 minutes while 1 member of your team, or 2 at the most, works on a puzzle. And they should not require a degree in complex mathematical equations. MouseAdventure should, imo, be challenging - but not daunting.

As for 2 step puzzles ... you can imagine my chagrin when I discovered that one of the quests not provided to us was not even 2 steps, but merely pick which item is not found on it's a small world, which I would have known in 10 seconds flat. Grrrrr, that one still smarts.

* * * *

On the subject of cheating ... it certainly isn't cheating to do anything you would ordinarily do as a guest ... and guests are allowed to abandon an attraction anyplace in the queue and, in many cases, during the attraction itself (a show, for instance).

BUT ... is it cheating to go in through the backdoor of Innoventions if that's what you usually do as a guest? Ah, the moral ambiguities of MouseAdventure!

Don't know what was in the packet this time, but when I put teams through shows (or difficult to escape queues) I had something about it being against the rules to leave early.

Because leaving early may be something that average park guests are allowed to do but it can be very disruptive if halfway through a show half the audience gets up to leave (and when you were all sent through Golden Dreams you were at least half the audience. I also tried to make sure that there was something at the end of the show that required your presence.

Similarly, you're allowed to exit the Peter Pan queue at any time but it is pretty darn awkward and annoying to other guests if a lot of people are doing it.

But yes, sometimes it is hard to know where to draw the line and with 150 teams there will be people trying to find the closest approach to the line. I always felt it fair game to go int he back door to look at Minnie's kitchen. Turns out a lot of people disagreed with me.

Minnie's House - perfect example. We did indeed go in the back door (as I'm told Mickey does on occasion).

I know the instructions for the Great Moments with Mr. Martin quest said you had to sit in designated seats, which means the team we saw squatting to use the aisle lighting were technically cheating. But there were all of 5 other people in the theater, none of them within 20 seats of either us or them, so it's not a big deal.

I don't recall if it said not to leave early.

My general rule with shows is, if the theater is relatively populated and if there are more than one or two other teams in there too, I won't leave early. If, in the case of the Steve Martin show, there's next to no one in there and there weren't a bunch of teams that would cause a disruption if they all headed for the exit, I don't have a problem with it. Especially since we were waiting to find out the # of fireworks Donald had meaning we didn't leave more than 2 minutes early anyway.
