Well we're still going to a showing tonight. After some confusion (and someone thinking that the showings wouldn't sell out) we will be seeing a DLP screening.

There was scattered applause at the end of the screening last night so personal experience will vary apparently. Critical reaction is definitely low.

On the upside though, the guaranteed continued financial success of the series has Imagineers working overtime to overlay new attractions.

I am thinking about not going to the midnight El Cap showing tonight. The reviews aren't doing it for me, I am tired and don't feel like staying up until 4:00 a.m.

And the pretentious side of me is disappointed that my sister-in-law only got general admission seats and not reserved.

And then drive to Potrero Park in San Diego (where the directions are to drive to San Diego, turn left and drive two hours) the next morning to go set up camp? Ummm... no

Well, of the three "third movies" so far this summer I'd say Pirates is the most worthwhile of the three but none of them came out with a slam dunk. The rottentomato ratings aren't good but at least right now they are pretty much exactly what they were for the second movie. And it continues to have a reasonably large split between regular and cream of the crop critics (which happened on the first two movies as well; the first one only had 65% from the cream of the crop).

I guess I'll have to put all my hopes into the Bourne movie.
