Do not click if your sense of Disney Magic is fragile. Ooh, look over there! Tinkerbell!
Spoiler:
It would be very apparent to the riders if the water level went down below the windows, don't you think?

Spoiler:
As I said, I've only been on it the once, but I think the transitions occcur during bubble screens and blackouts. With clever lighting the imagineers have created the illusion of being underwater. At least, that's what I think.

It's all a theory, it'll be fun to see what other people think after the ride is open. And after the inevitable spoilers are posted all over the interwebs.

Since we have so many that have rode..... does anyone know if they will be allowing photography at the AP preview?

Is it even possible to take photos from inside the sub?

(though frankly, my weakness is seagulls, who are luckily, above water)

Spoiler:
Having rode it, I do not believe that the sub itself goes into actual dry space. The logistics to pull that off would be extremely difficult (water dams that would need to envelope the sub as it passes through, water run-off down the windows, etc.). What I would believe is that there is a clear tube that the sub rides through or a clear water wall, with the dry effects (projections, et. al.) being on the other side of the clear glass/poly/whatever. And why the heck are we bothering with spoilers in a spoiler thread?

Bring your camera just in case. They didn't allow them at the CM preview and I didn't want to get the person in trouble when they were kind enough to bring me!

Next time you're on the ride, watch the waterline above the subs. When it disappears is when you'll know you've entered dry space. If it never disappears then I'll buy you a hamburger.

I was just keeping the front-of-the-magic spoilers separate from the behind-the-magic spoilers

You owe me a hamburger.

Spoiler:
I rode twice this evening. I am 100% certain that the sub remains in water the entire time. There are clear barriers that I can tell are there and a couple of times I was able to specifically see it (on the starboard side, right as you enter the whale's mouth was one of them).

Also, I frequently checked and was able to see the surface of the water above me.

I was just thinking about how whaleaphobic Disneyland is. A whale swallows you on Storybookland and Nemo and there are two other whale attacks one on Pinocchio and one during Fantasmic!.

Aside from bacon, what else would you like on it? (After I ride the damn thing again myself to make sure you're not lying)

I am pretty certain the subs remain in water the entire time and that the projections are behind a clear screen (or on a clear screen).
