Couple abandons child for Disney ride

The saddest part, there are more people than any of us would like to think about that see nothing wrong with that. There's a poster that's active on a couple boards that has two daughters, he bragged on how he left the younger one sleeping in her stroller while he took the older one on the MM in DCA, and how he posted them at the rail to watch the launch of Screaming so he could ride....and was offended when I mentioned that he could be grateful I wasn't around when it happened cuz I'd have called in Anaheim PD and informed his ex wife of his behavior....but he is constantly posting about what a big great christian he is.....so that makes his craptastical parenting ok I guess.

That is what got me in the comment section on the link. And they would bring up being lost themselves.

Being lost and being left are two different things. If you have lost your child, you {normally} look for them, are responsible in trying to find them.

I had to add the comment about how don't cha think whomever was in charge of the stroller should have taken the child out of it??? Does this mean maybe they were letting a child {with not enough common sense or maybe not big enough to carry the child} tend to the stroller????

And all of this bringing the bible in to it. Oh please, like that is the answer.

I think these people who are saying to forgive these people for the 'accident' have done things themselves. It isn't easy being a parent.

Ha, ~MS~. I was just telling someone today that it was years before I actually was able to go on whatever ride I wanted to, years. I did take my baby at 9 months and I tended to him no different than at home {naps, meals, etc.} and I was the person who would sit with the little ones {and some not so little ones} who were afraid to ride certain rides. I willingly did this because it seemed anyone else would tease them and make them feel badly for not riding whatever. So freakin' what. That man you talked about is a jerk.

I am feeling a bit guilty right now for letting Nickolas goo off on his own this weekend. The differences being, I always knew where he was and he always knew where I was.

I am so frikking paranoid that something bad will happen to Tori that I never let her out of my sight. WTF is wrong with these people? Even if there is a remotely plausible explanation for what happened....nah, there isn't one. No way anyone with even half a parenting sense about them would have done this, not even accidentally. And in Disneyworld, of all places.

I'm with you MW! My opinion of his behavior turned into quite the thread at the time and people are still thinking he's just this great dad cuz he takes his two daughters to Disney so often, to the point that they've missed so much school as to get warning letters about attendance....and he's posted/bragged about how he handles that as well....he's a piece of work for sure.

And MG you adore that boy and would never EVER put him in any position of 'neglect' ...he's not 3 .... and he has a good voice and skills to say Hey I'm lost and here's my moms cell number...so don't feel the least bit of guilt for letting him stretch those fledgling wings of his.

Ugh, well, again, those people who think he is the best probably aren't so great, either. Maybe?

And, I agree, MG, if you have had your son learn that simple info, that is empowering for him. The ages for kids to be alone differs because some situations, some kids, are ready earlier than others. You are his mom, you would know.

I thought the point of Having a child was to Teach them how NOT to behave...

I feel that if your child or if there is a child with you that doesnt want or cant go on a ride, the parents or someone who is willing to should stay with the kid. One of my best friends sends her son to come visit me at disneyland alot and we both have alot of fun, but I know that I cant go on all the rides I like (like TOT). But I dont mind because I said I would bring him.

Those comments are stunning- especially in their lack of reading comprehension- one thinks the little girl died, she didn't (thank God), one thinks the parents did not go on POTC, they did. And many seem to miss that this took place over about 2 HOURS before they showed up looking for her.

This attitude bodes well with the attitude I saw one of the last times I was there on a weekend.

I have never ever seen so many wheelchairs waiting in line for any ride as I did that day. The rented kind loaded up with people. People who looked fine. Two young men I saw {one a young teen the other probably 10} had a wheelchair. They took turns pushing themselves around. They parked it and went walking on to the Columbia {?} playing around on it and taking pictures.

Don't you still have to have a pass to get on the rides even with a wheelchair????

About the comments, I need to go back and Babelfish that post someone put in Spanish...it looked pretty harsh....
