This attitude bodes well with the attitude I saw one of the last times I was there on a weekend.

Have fun, regardless if it is right or wrong. {Eh, she'll sleep for a couple of hours...}

I have never ever seen so many wheelchairs waiting in line for any ride as I did that day. The rented kind loaded up with people. People who looked fine. Two young men I saw {one a young teen the other probably 10} had a wheelchair. They took turns pushing themselves around. They parked it and went walking on to the Columbia {?} playing around on it and taking pictures.

Don't you still have to have a pass to get on the rides even with a wheelchair????

About the comments, I need to go back and Babelfish that post someone put in Spanish...it looked pretty harsh....

I'm pretty sure is was exaclty the same thing they said in English right above it.
It was harsher, but it was all in the translation.

I'm astounded they didn't go looking for their tiny kid for two hours. I didn't read the full story or the comments, or I'd probably be a whole lot more angry.

Yes, people make mistakes, but really. Leaving your 3-year old kid??? To go on a *ride*??? No. My mother passed up a lot of things when we were young. Now they've got the baby-swap thing but even if that had been around I doubt she'd have gone to the trouble of doing that.

It's not a point of honor to brag about what you "get away with". How about teaching your kids to do the right thing? How about honor and responsibility? The guy has his kids out of school so much they're getting warnings about attendance? That's not good. What about when something happens? His kid disappears? Who's going to be the first to scream help me?

Stupid people. Where does the line form to start the beatings?

Losing a child and abandonment are two different things, IMO, and this was clearly abandonment.
IMO if people are going to open their mouths in the comments the least they could do is read the story and actually comprehend it.

OMG how exactly does one "accidentially" leave their kid on a stroller while they're going on a ride? I'm fairly certain I would notice that my kid wasn't with me. And it's a ride that little kids can go on too, so it's not like they need to leave her in the stroller.

I spent YEARS not going on rides because Maddy was the world's biggest chicken. She didn't start going on all the "big" rides until just over a year ago. When we went by ourselves we just did things she was comfortable doing. If we were with a group then someone, usually me, would stay out with her or go on another ride while we waitied. No biggie really.

Now she wants to go on rides totally by herself - um no. She's 11 but I stilll wouldn't leave her alone while I went on any ride. What if it broke down or something and I was in there for hours? I let her have a little freedom. If we're waiting for fireworks or something she'll run and buy popcorn or use the restroom. She knows her way around and she comes right back. She actually loves having a little independence and is proud that I "trust" her to go off a little on her own. But I'd never leave her waiting outside a ride.

I highly doubt that both Mary & Joseph would have left a young, mouse-ears wearing Jesus in the blazing son while they both hopped aboard Pirates of the Caribbean. They weren't those kinds of parents. Plus, they seem more like It's A Small World folk. That attraction sends a loving and positive message. Plus, Jesus has the power to empty the lines in one blink. He's the best ever to take to Disneyland! Jesus was, is & always will be the hot doggity.

(I just totally had visions of Jesus turning the Pirates water into wine making that ride a billion times more fun.)

Those parents are neglectful. When my beloved labradors were alive I never let them stay in the sun on a hot day. They were always indoors with plenty of fresh water. Sometimes with ice cubes.

You know, I'm on my fourth paragraph & I still really haven't commented on the poor neglected child. I tend to get off the subject super easily..

I'll make it simple: if you leave a child in the searing hot sun baking to death, you suck. If you ashpyxiate both your wife & 7 year old son in a murder-suicide, you suck. If you murder your wife & her friend and then flee in your white bronco, you also suck. End of flippin' story.

But in the spirit of the ride, wouldn't he have made it RUM?

Honestly, there must be a better way to teach a child self-reliance.
