Why don't they get rid of the monarchy? It serves no purpose. Besides a huge drain on tax dollars. I think Maori people are so beautiful. And I loved Whale Rider. Funny protest.

Eventually I imagine it will happen. Probably after Australia. There's quite a big push to be a Republic. Big constitutional change though (obviously).

If they drop the monarchy then it will be even more reason to change the flag, and the people who want it changed would just have a hay day. Personally I don't mind the flag as it is, the only problem I can imagine from it, is it's similarity to australias. If they went for a black flag with a Silver Fern in the middle that would look ok, IMO.
