The LAST movie I would see would be George Lucas presenting Star Wars.
And you all know what a big Star Wars fan I am. ![]() But seeing the man who massacred Star Wars present his massacred version of Star Wars would make me seriously angry. Almost as angry as I am that I can attend ANY of them. I'm performing a wedding that night. The first half of a wedding which concludes 3 days later in Las Vegas, causing me to miss 1) Gay Days; 2) Beat Hotel Substitute Retreat; and 3) my friends who live in Las Vegas who will be in Los Angeles that weekend. Missing this splended AFI thing is just rancid icing on the devil's food cake. Oh well, at least I won't go through the torture of choosing, because it's a VERY tough choice. I picked Tippi Hedren for The Birds because that sounds like the most hysterical. Jack Nicholson was my runner-up ... but since I've hung out with him before, I'd rather go with someone I've never met (and I was disappointed Tippi was not out at her Tiger ranch when we ventured out there a few years back.) I'd also love to see Julie Andrews, but really can't stand The Sound of Music. Angela Lansbury introducing Beauty and the Beast would also be sublime. Ugh, so hard to choose. But I really wish I could do at least one. B-A-H. ![]() |

Bonnie and Clyde would be my choice - I heard an NPR feature celebrating it's anniveersary and I think the only time I saw it was the cleaned up for the ABC Monday Night Movie version back when I 10 or something. Of course Sparticus would probably be the best use of big screen.
Then again, I've never seen Sound of Music, but I wonder of the combined effects of big screen and Julie Andrews might be too much for me.

Wow, just about any of those would be really great to see. I would Def. be torn between most of them.
Sparticus would be worth it just to see Kirk Douglas in person. Tough choice for sure.. |

I'm voting for Spartacus, but I'm not going to be going - I just realized that TMBG are playing @ Avalon the same night.

I went with Bonnie and Clyde. The other films that interested me here I have all seen on the big screen before, so that was a major determinant. Unforgiven was tempting, but I've met Clint Eastwood before and I don't expect that he would have much interesting to say about the film (not much of a public speaker). I think Douglas would likely have interesting things to say about Spartacus and Nicholson could well be a hoot (if he was introducing The Shining, I might make a different choice), but Beatty would probably be interesting as well. Star Wars would be tempting but for the new added crap and the crowd that would likely attend. Seeing that film will never again be like it was, alas.

I'm going with Bonnie and Clyde because I loved the movie and it would be cool to see on the big screen. A close runner up for me is Spartacus, because it would be awesome to see in a theater, and like NA, I'd love to see an old Kirk Douglas presenting.

Is one of them playing in the Dome, and not the Arclight?
If so, big-screen-seeing comes into play for me ... and vies with celebrity/movie combo as a big factor. |
