I packed-up my office today. Tomorrow, I start in the new building. It was harder leaving the old place than I thought it would be.

1 year clerks don't get health insurance. How did I miss this? 2-year clerks do.

Please, pretty please, cross your fingers and toes and hope that The Honorable Judge from Sioux Falls calls me soon to offer me the position.

Honestly, he sounds like a good guy. He said he calls his clerks his attorneys, not his clerks, because he feels "clerk" is too demeaning for the level of work his clerks do.

I know I keep blathering about this, but it would be such an amazing opportunity. Even if it means frozen winters.

I have a weeks worth of homework to do. And I haven't even started. Too busy unpacking, buying stuff to stash my stuff since my new place doesn't have a lot of places for stuff.

Sounds to me like the district court is the way to go... is that the 1-year or the 2-year?

The Seattle market is the only one that's hot right now, or so the paper tells us. From that perspective, I'd like to sell before it crashes like everywhere else. (And buy somewhere that it's already crashed!) The district court in SD, starting in Jan, is the 2-year.

If it's any consolation, I've a friend who had to relocate to Sioux Falls and she loves it there. It seems to suck considerably less than some of the other burgs in the Dakotas.
