So "Playhouse Disney" was cool to work this weekend. We beat their latest load-out time, too, which was cool. They had hoped for 2 hours, but we got the doors closed by 1 hour 30 minutes.

There were a couple of us singing the songs and dancing backstage. They're sort of used to it from me, but the other guy's kind of new and it was surprising. Cute, but seemingly out of character. That's ok. They had *really* cool costumes. The faces of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Tigger and Pooh were animated- mouths moved, eyes blinked, and the faces were soft flexible stuff.

So so cool. Expensive, and kind of touchy, but really cool.

And now I have a large beer to keep me company tonight. Yummy. Both dogs curled up on their pillows, a cat curled up next to me, and an evening to work on homework. Definitely needed.

I've been processing the break-up with the girl. Oddly, I think we wanted the same things out of the relationship, but it just wasn't possible. She wasn't getting what she wanted, but I wasn't either, though I was unwilling to admit it. There was so much I wanted to give her, and the distance was a larger factor than I thought it would be. Sadly it was right to end.

Plus, the fact that without having met my hubby, I'd probably *be* her in a lot of ways right now. The break-up trauma catapulted me into dealing a bit with my "coming-up to 40" personal re-assessment crisis. Not a lot, but a bit. I think there's a lot coming up, but there's a little bit done. I'm just feeling kind of lost and blind right now. It's not something I like. At least at work I was feeling like my old self; skipping across the stage and bounding up the stairs felt like me. The folks at work know to gauge me and how well I'm feeling by how nutty I am; I like that. And today I was feeling pretty good. Bout darn time, I say.

I've been processing with the help of the music from "Wicked" and I think I'm finally ready to let it go some. I'll see the musical again in November with some of the guys from work, which will be cool, and we're taking the backstage tour. I'm such a geek, because I can hardly wait to see it.

But I'm ok with my inner geek. She sort of knows how to be happy.

Had another fabulous day off roading up in big bear. We've now seen 2 of the fire tower lookouts. did you know that you can rent one of them for the night? No cooking in it. No electricity and the bathroom is down a very steep narrow ladder type of stairs...

but the view! Wow! In practically all directions, it was just incredible. On a clear day, I read, you can see Catalina! Now, we've seen Catalina from the top of Saddleback Mountain - but all the way from Big Bear. I can see the direction it would be - but it was overcast with a morning marine layer.

We now need to go visit all the fire watch towers in the area as well as drive from the bottom of the mountain near the 18 all the way up to Big Bear City without going on a regular road. I think maybe next weekend if we can get away with it.

Such fun!

Got a little bit of hiking in today as well. Yay Jeep!

If I quit procrastinating and just did my homework I would have been done with it a long time ago.

New place is coming together. The A/V was set up yesterday. YAY. Just locked down my network. I totally forgot and the reason everything has been so slow is because someone was "sharing" my bandwidth.

Homework is as done as it can be.

Morton Peak lookout was Saturday and Clark's grade we did as the way home on Sunday. Yeah - we had to go back up to Big Bear on Sunday because we had such a good time on Saturday.

Have you ever spent the night up in the Morton Peak lookout?

I haven't but it looks like it would be fun. Nice views, but it sure looks naked after the fire burned all the brush away from it.
