I suppose the Catholic faith might be the opposite. You are terrible sinners- starve yourself out of mortification! (And no meat on Fridays). Oh, and since you're saving all that money by fasting, you'll feel a lot less guilty if you kick some of it our way.......

If I were a better Catholic, I might be skinnier.
