I don't know if it was illegal; I think the law was (and possibly still is) that you had to get paid for the hours between if you had to come back to work within eight hours of leaving.

Bacon sushi's yummy, as long as you trim the fat off of it. Canadian bacon is best for it, not streaky rashers.
