One of my friends brought over food from his mom, killer black-eyed peas and collard greens. I'll be wandering down the street to a suitable spot to watch the Space Needle spew in a little while.

I sat at home, read, played with the rats, watched the fishies and texted with The Boy. At midnight I went out and calmed down the Dog.

Happy New Year everyone!
I blasted off last night (though not with the swankers blasting off a little further south of here) and overall, at least in my neighborhood, it was a pretty quiet evening. Like several others, I enjoyed the New Year with a plate brimming with bacon, no better way to start than that!

I wanna wish everyone here a Happy New Year! Had a blast at Disneyland and rang in the new year between the Castle, the Matterhorn and Ariel's Enterance.
![]() The park was jammed, lines for (for example) for Turkey Legs over at the Frontieerland station across from the Mark Twain dock had a line that almost got to the Shooting Gallery. Over in NOS, the Bread Bowl next to Pirates - the line was over the bridge heading towards Tarzan's Tree HOuse. The line for Pirates at one time was along the raised area in front of Cafe Orleans to Haunted Mansion and back several times. ![]() No Holiday Fireworks and at Midnight one pop went off because the wind was extreme. There was no doubt early on that they would cancel them. Last ride of 2007 was Space Mtn and a 1/3 ride around on the Train. First ride was (as tradition indicates) Dumbo. About ten min. after midnight the crowd evaporated. It was a ghost town, so we enjoyed a few rides before the park closed at 2am. I didn't hear if the gates were closed at all, but my friends Nic and Robin (Gwyren & Hippie) went to DCA at 2pm for lunch and got back into the park with no issues. Also, by the 3pm Parade, the area in front of the castle was already filled with blankets and people sitting. Around 9am when I arrived, there was maybe a dozen around the hub. Dinner was at Cafe Orleans and it was one of the best meals there. Everything was very fresh and thankfully we had a reservation. Or so I thought, apparently acording to the CM, disney dining is been having serious issues with reservations recently, so they were awesome enough to "keep" my reservation when they were turning away dozens of groups. Happy New Year everyone!! |

New Year's Eve.
I have to say best new years ever...i don't know where i had the energy to last beyond the day but until we arrived home at almost 4am almost 24 hours later than when i awoke lmao...i purposely subconsciously ordered my starbucks in the am wrong but anyhow (maybe it was the drink that did it) lmao..i dunno but i was extra hyper...Mark you made New Years Eve the best lmao..i don't think i laughed so hard ever. Poor CM though sicker than sick and i felt bad especially riding Small World Holiday with him getting sick over the side of the boat.
![]() Dinner at Cafe Orleans the best i've had and i would definitely eat there again. ![]() The park was absolutely packed. Never went outside so don't know if they closed the gates but when we left there was a sign by the front saying "Due to the parks being extremely crowded to make sure you have a handstamp and ticket to reenter." But once midnight happened everyone seemed to leave the park thus leaving it nearly desserted to ride some rides. I must admit i loved riding Dumbo after midnight being the first ride of 08. ![]() ![]() ![]() Still in jammies and will be for the rest of the day. ![]() |

Well, we went to Disneyland the 30th, was so interested in all of the things being set up for the next day...not in our plans, though.
What is the deal with the turkey legs? Is it because they are inexpensive? I saw families eating them, every member. I just don't get it. Are they that good? ![]() Last night we had some errands to run, people to visit. The Hubster made a delicious salad and porterhouse steaks...just as I was getting into my salad {filled with my favorites, avocado, tomato, mushroom, yummy!} I had a coughing attack! It totally freaked me out, I thought I was not going to be able to stop and catch my breath!! ![]() After a while I was able to eat, watched my soap, 'Two and a Half Men', then fell asleep. I made sure the kids would wake us up before midnight and we toasted the new year with sparkling cider. Funny, the Hubster was getting perturbed with me, 'Where are my fireworks???' {he had bought them back on the fourth in Bishop and was looking forward to setting them off....} I told him where they should be, they weren't. Well....it turns out while we were out of town the boys set off the whole freakin' pack in the court!!! Hubster was pissed but I thought it was funny. I said 'If that is the worse thing he has done, it isn't so bad.' Typical thing for kids to do, right? ![]() I enjoyed hearing everyones stories, some like mine, some I wish I'd had the energy to have be like mine. Happy New Year!!

Outer Space Party New Years was the funnest of the bunch. Or was it just the most recent? Either way, I can't remember ever laughing so hard and so often at one of these shindigs. So many people had their Wit-o-Meters set to stun.
Skype guests from Down Under, attending the party for hours, wandering around and mingling like any other guests, and providing tons of fun through both well-prepared and spontaneous props & costumes was a definite yet slightly bittersweet highlight. I sure miss those boys, but what a wonderful way for them to share the night with us! The one a.m. trou drop tradition was in perfect form. Party favors, decor, theme drinks, and embroidered souvenirs were top-notch gifts from the host, hostess and a certain drunk seemstress queen. P.J.'s and SpaceSuits were glorious and bountiful. But, where o' where will I next get to wear my white vinyl staight-jacket space cadet uniform? If I never get another chance, I'm glad this was the night! A terrific and splendifitacular New Years Eve and New Years Day. But, finally, I've.Had.Enough.Bacon. |
