Dove Contest - Take 1 (Need Feedback ASAP!!)

Hmm, after doing some judging, I got curious about the judging rules.

Judging Requirements:
The judging criteria for the First Round of judging to determine the five (5) Finalists are as follows:

Originality and Creativity - 30%
Adherence to Creative Assignment - 40%
Overall Appeal - 30%

The judging criteria for the Second Round of judging to determine the two (2) Grand Prize winners are as follows:

Originality and Creativity - 30%
Adherence to Creative Assignment - 40%
Overall Appeal - 20%
Popular Consumer Online Vote - 10%

Consumers will be able to vote on each of the five (5) Submissions by logging on to www.dovecreamoil.com and following the posted instructions. Votes will be limited to one per day per person and/or e-mail address during the duration of the Contest Entry Period.

So all the voting now doesn't matter. They do not consult the online voting to decide the 5 finalists. It's only if it gets to the finals that our votes count, and even then, it's only 10% of the score.

Even so, I'm going to vote down and up just to help keep DP's on the "highest rated" page.


Does anyone know why SO MANY of these use the same crappy font? Is it some sort of default for a particular piece of video editing software?

And I can't f'n believe that I've seen multiple question marks, the word "luxury" misspelled, and even a text smiley in these entries. Shockingly bad.

I'm happy the final winner is only 10% determined by votes, because VotefortheWorst.com and other idiots like to ruin contests like these.

As for the fonts, there are three fonts in their site's "editing tool" for people who don't have an editing program. They're not bad fonts, but sadly, most people don't know how to format them and make them look decent. Even I used Arial, which is one of those three that everyone else can use.

I kind of liked the one that had views of working hands, as well as the "her life" one. We can have five good ones so it's ok to kind of like a couple others cuz DP's is gonna win it aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall!!

I missed this thread until now. I thought it was a Chocolate contest

I wasn't sure what it was but I clicked to view it and as I was watching it I kept thinking "dang, that actress looks like Jen!". Then I found it was Jen! I thought I was watching a proffessional commercial, you guys did a great job!

I don't know if my Quicktime needs to updated also, but I found that if I click on the Play/Pause button a few times rapidly it then plays. Just in case that helps anyone who can't get it to play.
