Best response goes to Wendybeth I think I'd somewhat fall into that category also, especially the thinner on the boards part! ![]() |

Hmm... I think in real life I'm very outgoing. There is hardly anyone at work that doesnt at least know who I am, or know that they can always stop at my desk for candy or a hello.
On the other hand, if I dont know you yet, like at the meets, I tend to hang back, and not be very much the social butterfly. My work friends would be amazed that I "know" these online people, yet wont walk up and say hi. Case in point.. I've met CP and GD in person more than once. I've ran around the park with them at night, I tried to kill GD with my camera. We're NOT strangers. Last MA in DCA I had to work up the nerve to go talk to them, and actaully thought they were snubbing me. But, then on the boards it was all cool, so I was fairly sure all was good in the world, I was hypersensitive.. which is SO part of my personality. So Sunday, the boy and I are watching the baby ducks in the park. CP and GD walk up to see the same ducks. I saw them the second they walked up. What, you guys were there for five minutes? And all of five feet away? I didnt even make a motion to be known till they started to walk away, which happened to be the same second that I think GD saw my water bottle strap. Why? I was a chicken. BIG BIG chicken. I guess I just take time to warm up to people.

because Greg and I were making cutesy baby talk at the baby ducks and you probably heard and saw all of it. ![]() It took me ages to feel completely comfortable around the group. I understand about shyness, used to battle it myself, so no offence taken or anything....but seriously babe, all you have to do is say "hi" and I'll do the rest of the talking. ![]() I think people may be afraid to say hi because they think they'll be busting in on a "date" we're having, or that we'll feel obligated to hang out with them and they don't want to be a bother....don't even worry about that. We will always say bye if we want to. No issues with doing our own thing, not anymore. ![]() So no worries....say hi. Not that you have to. ![]()
