I'm sorry to hear this, but I KNOW that the next terrific thing is coming for you - the "doors and windows" adage may be trite but it always seems so true. Plus, this door may not be fully closed. The company valued you, and when it gets back on its feet, it will need you again. (That is, if somebody hasn't already filled up your dance card.)

I suck at getting to these threads while there's something new and interesting, or at least less redundant to say. (I'm sure most of us feel this way)

I do agree that it sucks that the writer's strike will soon end. It seems premature and really foolish of your company to do what it's doing.
