The decision was completely unselfish. You put Kaila's needs ahead of your own. You could have dragged it out a day or two to have more time to say goodbye, which would have been nice for you to have, but painful and harder for Kaila.

As iSm said, doubts make sense. But as sad as it is, you did the best thing for her.
