Mmm... pork loin.... There are days I'm grateful my rosemary plant in my front yard is thriving.

Good luck on the leads!

Does anyone know if it's going to rain into the weekend, or is it just the remainder of the week?

There is a 100% chance that it might rain this weekend.

I now have a hotel room for that dang wedding on March 8th. Nice hotel, reasonable price. If I don't end up with a roomie (no, nothing bad, one of the bridesmaids is a friend who may need a place to crash), I may hit DLR before I head out to pick up Boy.

I was also able to score reservations for the Easter Basket Brunch in the DLH Ballroom for Easter Sunday.

Yeah, I need to plant more herbs in my front yard - assuming the association gardners don't come along and hack at them again. Just before Thanksgiving (when I was planning on bagging up excess rosemary to give away), they came along with edgers and hacked away half my rosemary and completely destroyed my strawberries (which had half-formed berries on them, dammit!)

I want basil, but I'm afraid they'll nail it. Still might plant it though. Or some sage or thyme.

I loved my old herb garden. I hope to plant another one, particularly basil. Though it's difficult to keep going for most, I've figured out the trick. I just hope the blasted weather out here doesn't ruin a good thing for me.

Have you got a deck (or anything like that) you know most herbs (and berries) do well in pots.

That said, I miss the herb garden from VA, I've not found a good spot for putting pots of herbs in the apartment.

Snowflake: in my hands, nothing does well in pots. I have the brownest thumb this side of WeHo.

That being said, I have managed to grow a pretty cool avocado plant from a seed. Although at 20" tall, it is no longer "thriving" in the Nine Fine Irishmen glass/vase I have it in. The edges of the leaves are browning on me. May be because the water level got low, we'll see if it perks now (added more water and placed it outside for some sunshine... just before the rain started, LOL). Anyway, I know darn well it's outgrown the glass and is ready to be transplanted into actual soil, but I'm afraid I'll kill it the second it goes into a pot. Growing something in a glass is one thing... I can put that on my kitchen table where I'll see it and know when it's low on water. Gimme a large, mostly immobile pot and it's a whole new ballgame.

I'm serious about the brown thumb... I even killed an aloe vera plant once.

But if it's in my front garden, with sprinklers and sunshine and soil, maybe, just maybe, herbs will have a chance. Again, provided they don't get butchered by the association's gardening hacks. Maybe if I surround my herbs with nice tall snapdragons or something...
