I wish I was going- a good friend of mine lost her mother on Saturday night and her dad was placed in ICU same night. Not sure of his status.

So....I went to do laundry yesterday and the door latch on my washer is broken. No clue why- was fine a couple days ago.

So I check warranty- and find out I bought it 3/6/07, and the day I find it broken is 3/9/08? I just got extended warranty offers in the mail last week- lost them in the carpet tear out mass chaos in my house. Even if I had sent it in they would not have gotten them yet-

Anyway- I am hoping they will extend the warranty and help me out.

I mean come on- 3 days? Over a weekend when I can't get a hold of anyone to help fix it?

I bought a 12pk of mini Naked juice at Costco a few weeks ago. Today I went to take a drink of the delicious orange juice and it went bad. The expiration date isn't until March 14th. I'm scared to try the apple or the strawberry banana smoothie now.

So with the double negative canceling itself out, this means that all of our class is high?

I have to find this favorite sketch of mine. I don't remember the comedian's name, but I do remember the "exam" he spoke of:

Word.

Plants that I'm considering, if I can find them:

Jacobs Ladder (Polemonium)

Heuchera (which comes in different leaf colors)

Toad Lilly (Tricyrtus)

They're all perennials, so should last if I stay diligent with upkeep. The combo of Jacobs Ladder and Toad Lilly would give blooms most of the year (Spring and Summer for Jacobs, Fall for Toad), and the Heuchera would provide good contrast colors. I just don't know what availability of those species is, gotta start hitting nurseries.

If you'd like to borrow my Western Gardening Book (or any of the others), you may.

Al three of those plants are beautiful, but I've never heard of them - and with my strangely large plant knowledge base, is odd. It makes me think the are more common in the East Coast.

If you like the different leaf colors, try Coleus. They do well in shade.

How about suggestions for vegetables that grow well in the shade? I want to get a patio garden going, but it is north facing with very little sun.
