lamb can be tricky. Ive always been told it has to be served and consumed warm. as soon as it starts to cool is when that sort of odd lamb flavor some folks hate comes out.

dang...lamb isnt till friday at my lil greek spot down the street. guess I'll have to wait.

Dinner was tasty. I got my cabbage on the side and it hit the spot nicely. I learned a few things in the cooking process, but that's ok.

What a crazy night at the pub. They told us that it might not be too busy, due to many people choosing to celebrate over the weekend. That assumption was incorrect. Sardines.

And all they wanted to hear was Irish music. Granted, we came pretty prepared but we figured they might also want to dance. Nope, just lots and lots of Irish music. Five and a half hours worth of it. By the end of the night, our singer's fake Irish accent had morphed into something that sounded like an Irish pirate but nobody seemed to notice - other than the drummer and I, who kept yelling "Argghhh" each time he sang.

And as is becoming the tradition around here (since I'm never home on St. Paddy's Day,) Matthew and I are having our corned beef and cabbage tonight. The nice thing is that you can purchase all the ingredients on the day after for mere pennies.

One thing I am VERY happy about is that I no longer give up certain holidays every year. This year will be the first year in about 7 or 8 that I haven't worked on the Fourth of July and last December was the first time that I have not worked ANY Saturday in December in about 20 years.
