I think this explains why he got press:

I'm sure the article was viewed as a public service announcement along the lines of:

Please, do not vote for this guy simply because he'll be alphabetically first on the ballot.

According to the article this includes bathrooms and school showers.

So if I went to one of these schools and said I was gay then they would let me shower with girls (at least the lesbian ones anyway)?

I think there would need to be 8 bathrooms:

1. Hetero males
2. Hetero females
3. Gay males
4. Gay females
5. Bisexual men and bisexual women (these two groups could actually share)
6. Pre-op Transgendered males (after surgery, they would then be moved to #2, #4, or #5 above, depending on their orientation)
7. Pre-op Transgendered females (after surgery, they would then be moved to #1, #3, or #5 above, depending on their orientation)
8. Libertarians
