And while I'm thinking about it...
Maleficent is a mean, vindictive, sadistic mega-evil bitch.
She curses an infant for pretty much no reason, she conks out grown up Aurora, she imprisons Phillip, then after she wins she taunts him in prison by saying 'you're going to be here until you're too old to be with Aurora' and then she turns into a dragon and tries to murder Phillip. And she basically gains nothing by doing all this. Pure evil. Talk about someone too dangerous to keep alive in some prison somewhere.

And another thing, most of the characters in this film do not cast shadows. I found it odd that they missed that. Then again, I haven't really looked at the other films before it for that...

Yes, you're right. But imagine what would have happened had she had been invited and gotten drunk with that minstrel at the party. Her waving that freakin' staff around in a drunken stupor. And I'm thinking, she'd be an angry drunk.
