The Earthquake made Twitter a hero. Evac'd the building everyone on their cell phones - Disaster recovery people running around trying to get ahold on things - and here I stand, cell phone in hand - refreshing and reporting my Tweets:
Looks like it was felt in Santa Monica... Brea... Long Beach... Preliminary estimates 5.8 Chino Hills... All MY loved ones are safe... It was that awesome joy of childish one-upmansship. What's that - oh I'm using twitter - but it's blocked by our company as a "dating" site - dating and disaster recovery Heh I was giddy for hours even if dissappointed that we didn't hit the 6 mark
