IIRC this happened to Nephy right after the quotes feature was introduced. I posted back then -- and still believe today -- that quoting someone with the intent to shame or mock is pretty un-swanky.

If that was the case here, I would fully agree, however, it's not the case. Shaming may be unswanky but we have many a quote that is complete mockery - done with a wink of course. Thank GOD most of us have a great sense of humor and can laugh at our failings.

And, I think people need to remember that what you post on a message board is PUBLIC. Once it gets posted it is out of your control.

I'm always careful review each message before I post it to look for potential embarrassing quotes. It's my thing, small as it might be, to be careful about what I post so no one can take any part of my message out of context.
