When Mr. Swanie and I went out to fish all of our stuff out of the pool, we let her out to inspect her yard. You can imagine...the pool was so filthy you couldn't see the bottom of the baja step, lightening was still going off in the distance and we still had a bit of rain. Well, we made the mistake of not putting her on the other side of the pool fence. Before we knew it, we heard a huge SPLASH! Damn dog decided to go swimming. It was disgusting. After an already long night, having to give her a bath at 11:00 was not fun. Last night we were able to talk to more of our neighbors. Two of the downed trees on our street fell due to lightening. There is a small street that faces the local school and the direction the storm came in. The wind blew several layers of tile right off 7 or 8 homes. In fact, the school had just installed a sun screen over one of their playgrounds and the storm snapped the cables and brought the whole thing down. On the bright side, we had a very nice QUIET evening last night, but more storms are forecast for today. It was really a perfect storm in the world of monsoons. I can't imagine it happening again this season, but it makes you a bit nervous when you see the clouds off in the distance.
