I got home from work, and while attempting to lay on the floor to greet my dearest Ethel, I was attacked by an ornamental iron kitty sculpture- resulting in an inch wide gouge in my leg and a couple spurts of blood. More than a bandaid, but not quite to stitches level injury.

Now Ethel is moping outside my door, sweet little thing.

So driving home at the 5/710 interchange I saw a bilboard - a cloud covered sky with Words across the top left corner "Don't Believe in God?"
and in the lower right corner the rejoinder, "you are not alone."

New carpet went in today! Just in the upstairs; we're putting laminate in the downstairs. Plus I got to hob-nob with a former professor and practicing trademark attorney this evening, and got introduced (finally) to the world of scotch.

I just heard gun shots. I know, no big deal for some of you but I live in a town of 12,000 and there has only been one shooting that wasn't accidental in the last decade or more. Eek! I figure it won't do any good to call the police because I have no idea where it came from but I closed my back door!

That can be unnerving. Every so often I hear gunshots here. I know that it isn't anywhere near, but it still rattles me. My immediate neighborhood is safe, but la little more than a mile southeast things start to go downhill. What concerns me is the amount of home invasions that are taking place.
