So the weather forecast varies from 'partly cloudy' to 'a few showers'.

Umm...I judging by the recent heat, if a cold front & low pressure system are approaching, there won't be much moisture associated with them. It'll probably be overcast & drizzly in the early morning, then it will become partly cloudy. That's my weather forecast.
