Despite him getting away with murder (and I do believe he committed those murders) there is no make-up call. Incorrect acquittals is a risk of the system and I like the system well enough to accept that.

The system needs to be fixed.

One day after the aquital, he could have had a press conference and admitted guilt, shown home movies, etc., and nobody could have done a thing.

I fail to see what needs to be fixed in that. It sucks, yes, but it is better than the alternatives. Double jeopardy protections are a very important principal. And regardless, has nothing to do with whether a perception that you got away with something justifies later augmentation of sentences for different crimes.
