I voted for the rescue dog, but I like the terrier -- "so he can pal around with it".

I heard on NPR this afternoon that the Obamas have already stated that whatever kind of dog they decided on, they planned to get a rescue. The HSUS has said that they will do their best to hold them to their commitment.
