I just got a call from my mother. My brother-in-law collapsed last night and was rushed to the hospital. He's been diagnosed with advanced acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He may not make it to Christmas.

He was looking ill at Thanksgiving. Now we know why.

I just talked to one of neices. My mother got a one important point very wrong. My brother-in-law is expected to recover, but he is not not expected to get out of the hospital before Christmas. Big difference.

They started him on chemo, and they want to do a bone marrow transplant.

Whew JW. It's not good but not as bad as you thought. Let us know if any blood or platlette donations are needed, a coworker has been batteling Lukemia at City of Hope and some of us have done platette donations on his behalf.
