I used a Disney Gift Card towards an AP upgrade, no problem, so I don't see why you couldn't use Disney Dollars either.

Or, if y'all are Costco members and your old pass has already expired, you can purchase a $269 Deluxe Pass at Costco -- it is full price, but comes with a $50 gift card that you can use to upgrade to premium (or for whatever else you want... that's what I did and it worked like a charm). I'm not sure how you could finagle the price of the 1-park tickets onto that one though if you bought it off the gruesome twosome.

An interesting tidbit from another site....

Multiple people have reported that AP's are good for fastpasses even if they were not scanned in at the front gate that day.

That's been true in the past -- especially when FastPass was first introduced -- but it hasn't worked in several years. Unless Disney has changed something very recently.
