Can't wait to see pics. If I'd known you had a Clan in mind I would have picked up a Graham scarf when we were there! As it is, I probably bought the "Rape and Pillage Clan" scarf.

I finally officially joined my clan (Campbell) when we were at the Seaside Highland Games in October. Our kilt is the "Black Watch." I've got all the gear including the fun frilly shoes and socks . I'm also taking highland drumming lessons...woo!

Utilikilt's are not really trad, and so are not really suitable for business wear. Besides, Sporrans are more fun than pockets... (och, laddie, reach into me sporran & get me car-keys...)

I LOOVE to eat Haggis, but I'll spare Haggis Matilda Stewart McCat on account of her cute name !!

I disagree 100%. True, it's not a traditional kilt, but to say it's not a kilt seems like denial to me.

I love wearing my Utilikilt to work, Disneyland, grocery shopping, or anywhere I want to feel unbifurcated.

As a re-enactor, I say it isn't a real kilt.

Oh, you otherly-world mundanes may think it is; but pre-1595, it is not.

By that standard, none of the typical Victorian dress kilts are "real" kilts either.
