Before I haul 'em to Chino for recycling, does anyone want 1000 or so CD jewel cases? How about 1000 DVD Amaray cases?

I can't remember if you were around for the conversation or not, but I believe Jennie said that libraries take them and use them for their rentals.

ETA: Ah, here we go. It'll be done this Spring. http://la.curbed.com/archives/2008/0...ke_library.php. I think there's already a Friends of the Library for it, they may be taking donations. ( Friends link )

I don't need them, but I can't find the thread where you mentioned what you keep your cds and dvds in now. I'm trying to downside and store sensibly.

For the DVDs, I found a company that sells binder inserts that hold the discs and the artwork/booklet on ebay. ![]() For the CDs, I came close to getting binder inserts, but I decided against it. All of the commercially available binder pages for CDs don't hold the tray card (without folding it). Bags Unlimited have just released inserts that purport to solve the problem, but when I received them, it turns out that they are poorly engineered. In the end, I went with JewelSleeves. They are thin and sturdy, and have separate pockets for the CD, booklet and tray card. Once we move, I'll buy one (or two) of their cabinets for the collection. There's another company called DiscSox that makes similar CD sleeves as well as neat DVD booklet-style protectors, but JewelSleeve's design has a slight edge (top loading).

![]() ![]() On the front picture, I pulled the CD partly out. It actually sits in its own pocket behind the booklet. The sleeves are heavy (6-gauge vinyl), so they do a good job protecting the paper.
