I tried come up with some use for the extra letters for, but was unable to (other than Newb, which really didn't seem to fit in this instance).

I think one of the hallmarks of good design are simple changes that bring new functions to every day objects....

Stop for a second and ask yourself how you might improve a bedside lamp and then look at this idea

Simple, elegant and useful not to mention costing next to nothing. That's good design.
