Grrr.

So last night I absolutely could not sleep. By the time I got in bed, I had less than 3 hours before I needed to be up. Alarm went off, I rolled over.

I got up a couple hours later. I'm still tired, but those 2 hours made the difference. With a shortened morning routine, I was out of the house and at work less than 90 minutes late. At that rate, I didn't even bother calling in. My manager wouldn't notice, I'll work through lunch, I'm leaving a little late today anyway. No one would be the wiser.

I walk in the door...and half my department, including my manager, are standing right there having an impromptu meeting.

Fortunately, people come in and out that door all day, and they were too focused on whatever they were talking about so I don't think they noticed. And if they did, they probably figured I was getting something from my car. The whole thing made me laugh, though.

WB, thanks for sharing this heart and gut wrenching post. Awesome that you found the journal and the deer in your yard, fantastic. I don't know if that's your Mom or not, but I look on that as a peaceful boon from the universe.

I'm astounded about Mozart, Schoeberg I'd understand, but not liking Mozart? Of course, play Eine Kleine Nachtmusik enough and I'd become a screaming banshee, so maybe not so far afield as I think.

Kevy, for my desert island one composer only, I'd be torn, Beethoven or Verdi (and would probably go with Beethoven)

If I had to be stuck on a desert island with one composer, it would be Raymond Scott.

I didn't think the deer was mom- that would have been a pretty fast turnaround for her.....

I was just feeling a little sad, and then to see this beautiful creature so close up and to have it not be afraid of me was really cool. It just made me feel better.

I love Mozart, so I was kind of amazed that mom didn't- I do know she really liked the movie Amadeus, though.

I swear, sometimes I do better when I'm severely sleep deprived. We'll see if I'm singing the same tune come 4:00, the longest hour, but right now I'm just cruising on the power of being wired. And I've only had one cup of coffee (a total that's going to change shortly). Helps that I've got lots to do today.
