Got my first tast of the story also.
I took headliner to the midnight release party, she went dressed as the prissy Cullen girl. They had a costume contest she should have won but the idiots at the site picked a Dracula type vampire over her. Ignorant fools. Still she did manage to nab the "grand prize" in the trivia contest. A goodie bag full of Twilight swag. We were the first out of the store with the flick 13 Min (exactly) before midnight. The guy at the register decided to sell me one a bit early after he noticed me noticing him selling one on the sly to his friend.... I'm glad we did not have to wait, the store was a badly organized mess. They had two registers, 200 people and did not let people pre-pay. So they had to check them all out starting at midnight. I'll bet we were half way through the movie before the last of the people made it out... As for the movie, meh. Let's just say it ain't my thing. For example I really think if you take a tracker who it super sensitive to scents and hit them full on with pepper spray it ought to have an effect.

Other than the make-up I liked the movie. I really liked the baseball scene, and the intro of Victoria and crew.
Much like most book-to-movie adaptations, the not exactly following the storyline bugged me. The field scene shouldn't have happened while they were at school and he didn't shine nearly enough. |

The makeup and the fact that I had *just* read the first book really screwed with me. I'd just finished reading, and was looking into the minutiae as I was watching the movie. Halfway through, I chilled out enough to not worry about them combining scenes to make up time.

I watched the movie again this morning. The make-up lines seriously grate on my nerves. In the hospital Dr. Cullen has an almost gray face and the actors normal skin tone on the side and back of his neck.
I'll probably end up buying it at some point. I'm a sucker* for all things vampire. And I love the soundtrack. *no pun intended |
