So I just spoke with the LashPair, they were at the Buena Vista having an Irish Coffee (and it's cold enough for them to really enjoy it). I will be seeing them on Sunday I can't go with them to Napa on Monday but we will have sushi sometime next week, if not on Sunday.

Ya know... pets really know how to make us smile and "live in the now" during stressful situations.

Just went in to use the bathroom to find two kitties huddled together behind the toilet, poking their heads out in fear over the sound of the buzzsaw and floorboards being tossed about. It was cute as hell.

In light of all the recent "economic" protests that have been going on in London and in light of the fact that when the Obama's visited the Queen they gave her an iPod, I thought it might be a good idea if someone were to continue to "update" the Queen a bit more, you know, to make her a bit more savvy, hep, in touch with her times. I mean the Obamas made a good head start, but why not take things a little further?

What would it be like if the Queen gave license to use her name to iTunes or to iPod? To get behind a hip modern industry and show the Brits that She's not all that stodgy and uptight, to let Her people know She's on their side, to lighten things up a bit in these hard trying times and to offer England Her own type of "stimulus package" the way the Beatles did decades ago. You know, something like "Music Fit For a Queen" or "Music A Queen Coud Shag To" sort of thing....but cool and hip.

Soooooo....I did some creative thinking and came up with an iTunes ad on the Queen's behalf.

You know, I do believe she's up for it- she hugged Mrs. Obama, licensing to iPod is a logical next step. From what I understand, she's the tech savvy member of the family.

She has a Blackberry and apparently Obama's gift is her third iPod.

I know it is becoming a bit of a mini-tradition to mock the gifts Obama has given the Brits (DVDs that the recipient isn't supposed to be able to watch in his home country being mockworthy) but since the queen gave the Obamas a framed picture of herself I think both sides were equivalently lame.

I saw someone questioning whether the iPod, and specifically the music on it which would have been purchased before iTunes went DRM-free this week, was a legal gift. Does the DRM allow for gifting the tracks like that?
