				San Francisco question
So I'm running up there for a short trip next week, and I'm dragging Sohrshah along (who hasn't been to SF in like a decade). There's a chance that at least one of the two solid days we'll have, we might BART into the city (from Walnut Creek). So my question is which attractions are BART close, and what station should I use to get to: Golden Gate Park? Chinatown? Presidio? (Also, is the Presidio worth visiting on a weekday? I notice the museum is mainly open on the week end) In the past, I've mainly used the BART to get to Union Square, not so much the other touristy stuff. How much is a long ride like that running these days, anyway? I'm guessing about $5-6 each way?

				            | Of the three you mention only Chinatown is particularly BART convenient. For Chinatown, Powell Street is probably the best stop. For Golden Gate Park, though, you can take BART to one of the downtown SF stations and then switch to the N-line for MUNI inside the station (1 level up, pay again). I'm sure there's a reasonably convenient MUNI transfer for the Presidio but I've never done it. |

				            | Yeah I figured MUNI would end up needing to be used. Thanks for the tip!

				            | As a tip, play with the public transit routing option on Google Maps. Just use "Market St & Main St, San Francisco, CA" as your starting point. That is essentially on top of the Embarcadero BART station. As an example, here's a route to Chrissy Field (also Golden Gate Bridge and near Presidio). ETA: Oh, and I should mention that the N doesn't actually go INTO Golden Gate Park, it runs parallel to it on Irving. You'd get off at 9th Ave and walk the couple blocks into the park (this would be near the museums). |

				            | Thanks Tref, not sure how many meals we'll be in the city for though, definitely not breakfast. We're staying at my Dad's in Danville. And at least one meal need to be a Nation's burger

| lost in the fog | Goonie, when exactly are you and Sorshah going to be here? If you are here on a weekday and maybe plan a Chinatown trip or a visit to the Ferry Building, maybe we could meet up for a lunch? Only day I'm not free this week is Wednesday. PM me if you want to at least say howdy! |
