Give it a year or two. They'll either lower the membership fees, or turn it into a regular restaurant.
No way will it ever have the cache of Club 33.

Give it 50 years, you never know. Many of us associate our childhood and nostalgia with Disneyland. For kids growing up today, they may someday feel the same way about the Carthy Circle Theatre.

No, that can't be so. I'm pretty sure that nostalgia plays no role in how we view the quality of new things versus the similar things that have been there a long time.

Well, I think something has to first be enjoyed immensely before attaining nostalgic status.
Disneyland, yes. DCA, no. There's a brand of nostalgia for the craptacular, but no one pays $10K for that kind of memory lane travel. |

Unless the nostalgia is chowing down on fast food, in a car parked in a crowded Disneyland Parking lot, otherwise - no thanks.

Not unless kids today miraculously start to enjoy DCA, and remain enjoying it till they are adults.
That describes the modern Club 33 membership. I won't be around to gloat, so I'll just do it now. It Will NEVER happen with DCA. |

I think you'll find there are plenty of kids that do enjoy DCA quite a bit and will look back fondly.
I think the bigger thing that's missing and can never be added is the cache that club 33 has being connected directly to Walt. Who cares about another room they've built in DCA to charge people to enter? What makes Club 33 extra special is that it was a private space for Walt and his close associates, you're paying for the privilege of entering that, and DCA can surely never have that.

A room built intended for public access (albeit expensively) doesn't have the same backstory. It's more of a kudos thing. AND I bet they don't have a stuffed vulture. What movie props are they going to showcase. Do they have another elevator lying around from a movie set? (well, maybe - but a Californian one?)
