I think there's an element of truth to that. The safer we make "things" the more dangerous our behavior, the greater need to make things safe.

Slip and slides they still sell - but for how long???

Yes yes - me too me too. And I went all willy-nilly and mixed things that shoudln't be mixed and was very disappointed when nothing spectacular happened. But we got my set from a second hand store so maybe it was just too old.

My kids have an electronic snap kit that's pretty cool.
