That said, though Zappos has generous return policy and good customer service (important for an internet cobbler), I've never had a problem returning anything to Amazon.

Amazon's decent. Zappos is exceptional. The only other time I tried to buy something there it was out of stock..so the customer service person sat on the phone with me and helped me find what I was looking for at another retailer. THAT is what Amazon had better not ruin.
