No more problems with double vision but I'm only wearing my contact lenses for part of the day (as my optometrist has advised for years). I saw my doctor about two weeks ago and he referred me to an ophthalmologist who has referred me to a more specialized ophthalmologist who I'll see in a couple of weeks. The diagnosis, besides diplopia (double vision), is strabismus (that's probably misspelled) which is when your eyes don't line up together the way they should. It's one of those things that can happen as you get older (I'm getting really tired of hearing that explanation for various phenomena) and could have been exacerbated by my wearing the mono-vision contacts too long each day.

I hope I won't be told not to wear the contacts at all because I really need them at work. When I wear my glasses at work I have to keep switching between my progressive lens glasses and my reading glasses in order to read the computer screen and the routine drives me up the wall.

Old. It sucks. But not as much as the alternative.
