Far, far easier. Though I didn't really do much in terms of tuning up the mechanics of the bike (calibrate brakes, or derailleurs), just cleaned the hell out of the chain, re-lubed it and lubed the other joints. But that alone made a noticeable difference in how the bike rides, and it cost half of what I was about to pay to the shops (actually, well under half considering that I have enough of all of the cleaning and lubricating materials left to do it several more times).

Had to switch from the Vent thread to the Happy thread- just got my car out of the shop ($500) and it runs great! I could totally tell my car was happy. They said the only other thing they could think of that it needs is a new muffler (it still has the original, and sounds like a muscle car) but that it could wait until my wallet replenishes itself. The mechanic said that my car is really in great shape, especially for it's age, and well worth fixing as opposed to dumping for a new car.

Yay WB!
I loved my Honda, I drove it to death. It was a Hondamatic Accord, not the best car, but, I put some serious miles on that car. Then, one night it wheezed and died on the corner of Polk and Green. I was sad, I had just put new tires on the sucker. The transmission died and poor Babette went to the graveyard. |
